The world moves fast. Too fast.
Notifications before breakfast. Plans before you've finished the last one. A calendar that never quite empties. Somewhere along the way, doing nothing became something you had to justify.
Sloaf thinks that's backwards.
We make clothing and accessories for people who've decided that comfort isn't a reward you earn after the hard part - it's just allowed. No hustle. No hurry. No performance. Just the sofa, the good blanket, and absolutely nowhere to be.
This isn't another soft wellness slogan about self-care. It's a flat refusal to keep apologising for resting.
The name means exactly what it says. More on that below.
Where it Started
Ireland, early-to-mid 1980s. A house with a sofa and two armchairs - the kind of three-piece suite every house seemed to have back then, and the kind every parent guarded fiercely.
Five kids grew up in that house. Two boys, three girls. And at some point, one of them invented a game that had no name yet, no rules written down anywhere, and absolutely no approval from anyone who paid the furniture bills.
The game was simple. You stood at the back of the armchair, leaned over the back towards the seat and let yourself go - sliding face-first down onto the floor, arms pinned to your sides. You could take it slow. You could launch yourself. The truly committed kept their face pointed at the floor the entire way down, right up until the moment their whole body landed flat. That was the move everyone was chasing.
